Monthly LGTBQIA2S+ AFFINITY Yoga

The Last Sunday of Every Month 9:30am-11am at The Boston Figurative Art Center in Somerville, MA!

Join Sophie Lyons (she/her) for all levels Yoga Flow offering for the Queer community. This practice will be open to folks who identify as part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and be an open level trauma informed Asana (movement) practice with an emphasis on choice and finding movement that feels available. This class will end with community time to recenter and connect about the many dynamics and intersections of Queerness.

A Note from Sophie: I chose this space to host Queer Yoga because it feels important to host an affinity space for the LGBTQIA2S+ community outside of a Yoga studio. My hope is that all people will feel welcome and at home. I believe Queering Yoga is about being in community, challenging both the western norms of fitness and the gendered norms in the east embedded into yoga practice. Yoga is for all bodies and I feel it is important for us to be in community in a space that is truly safe and supportive.
